Alice News accepts spontaneous contributions
Activists, academics, professionals, and ordinary people who wish to share critical reflections on relevant arguments in the area of postcolonial thought, or who wish to share news, are welcome. All material received will be reviewed by the editorial team and published if it is of appropriate quality. Submissions should respect the simple guidelines below and should be submitted through the forms available online.

What type of contributions?
1. Contributions must be original, and may of text format (up to 1200 words) or video format (between 3-5 minutes). Examples of contents:
2. A news story;
3. A brief report;
4. Summary of a scientific study;
5. Self-recension or self-production of an informative text about a book;
6. Review of a publication of other authors;
7. Interviews with several (e.g. 3-4) short questions and brief and punctual answers; 
8. Interview based on a broadly answered question;
9. Short video-story (movie or photo);
10. Short conversations between researchers and activists;
11. Opinion/comment on a relevant and current topic;
12. Other contributions;
Contributions should be concise and presented in an accessible form directed to a generalist and non-specialist audience.

What themes and perspectives?
Alice News welcomes critical content developed from a postcolonial perspective and that can draw attention and reflect on issues pertaining to at least one of these three areas:
a. anti-capitalism,
b. anti-colonialism,
c. anti-heteropatriarchy.

With what style?
Contributions should be easily accessible to a general public, should be simple, clear and should explain the concepts used, through clear language and referencing links to external material. Avoid footnotes and use parentheses when strictly necessary.

In what language?
We welcome contributions in English, Portuguese and Spanish. Spelling variants of each of the languages are accepted as long as they are consistently used.

How to submit?
Send contents using the form and include:
a. file with text or video - To send attached documents (doc, pdf gif, jpeg ...) please use alicenews@ces.uc.pt and indicate the content suggestion to which they refer;
b. identification of authorship (name, affiliation/collective, biographical note, email); 
c. description and copyright of any image accompanying the contribution.
Contents received will subject to review by the Alice News editorial staff. Once accepted, they will be published according to the platform’s agenda.
